From 1989, reporter Marcus Jones from WGBH-TV in Boston meets 77-year-old private investigator Herman M. Hurwitz, who's been doing investigations for more than 30 years. With a modest fee of $40 per hour, and the personal choice of not carrying a gun since Herman prefers to apply clever thinking instead, his workdays are far away from the glamour days of TV detectives.
